Nice to meet you, I'm Micah ☺
[My-Kah]
Content Experimenter. Multi-disciplinary designer. Dog Mom. Weekend-traveler. First-Gen mental health advocate.
I truly believe the role of a human centered designer is to advocate for humans through empathy and understanding core needs to create ethical and sustainable products.
As a first-generation Filipino-American with a passion for mental health and social advocacy, empowering BIPOC folks like me is my life’s work.
I'm passionate about the ways brands can be designed for good and strive to bring empathy and intention into all my projects. I’m currently leading design & content experimenting at Accelerate Change but I’m always open to help you bring your creative vision to life!
Previously, I was a creative inner-child healing coach for daughters of immigrants to help them pursue their creative dreams and honor their inner being.

If I’m not at my desk, you can find me watching One Piece, taking photos, traveling, painting, cuddling with my pups, doing yoga or powerlifting!
I also take photos & create travel UGC content✌︎︎
THE ROOT OF MY WORK
My design philosophy is to be rooted in research, created for connection and marketed with mindfulness — all with intention.
With my background in experience design & mental health advocacy, I’ve honed in on a holistic, human- centered process
Here are my 4 steps to intentional and mindful design:
Step 1— Empathy
Phase one in the design process is to ensure that empathy is at the forefront. I believe that when you make the effort to understand the people you’re trying to reach and design from their lens, it creates a profound experience altogether. The goal is to identify patterns, behaviors and pain points of my audience through research, experimentation, and observation.
Step 2— Authenticity
In order to understand all of the complex emotions involved, it's important to pave a path with the goal to build deep audience relationships and deep brand loyalty. I believe in self-reflection for the brand you want to create: what is the purpose, what is the goal and how do we portray its heart and soul to the world? To be authentic is to show your passion through your brand.
Step 3— Strategy & Design
As the ideation process begins, I wholeheartedly believe in honing in on a human-centered strategy— making sure your content is in the right places for the right people. Part of being a holistic-creator is finding success in mindful marketing. In order to create a brand that is set on the path of fruition, we must first be intentional about the problem we’re trying to solve + produce a creative & solution!
Step 4— Experimentation
I believe that everything is an experiment. It isn’t “failing,” it’s learning. By putting ourselves in a growth mindset, we’re able to truly understand what we’re putting out in the world. Not only will we receive more audience feedback, but we’ll make our way towards a plethora of ideas that the world has to offer! In this case, data is our partner. Did I mention that it’s more lean this way?!

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME
Mental Health Advocacy Work
During the pandemic, on the side- I was a creative inner-child healing coach for daughters of immigrants to help them pursue their creative dreams and honor their inner being.
+ trauma informed
+ trauma certified
+ art therapy techniques

While reflecting on my personal life learnings, sessions and client success, I created a program to help anyone currently on their healing journey heal their inner child through art therapy techniques.

I believe that the experiences you go through inform the way you take on projects. If not for the pull towards mental health advocacy in my first-gen asian american community, I would not have been able to find a human-centered design process that now ignites my passion for design & works perfectly for me.
